We take on client work, and we build our own products. The second half is not a side project. It is the thing that keeps the first half honest.
Ruptide is a development house and product hatchery, working remotely out of Cape Town. We sit on both sides of the table, which changes how we scope: we care what ships, what gets used, and what still gets used a year later.
Ten years in, that is about fifty products, a team we have kept small on purpose, and enough scar tissue to spot what kills a product long before it launches.
Test early. Cut fast. Build the part that has to last. Not because it is fashionable, but because we have paid for the alternative with our own money more than once.
We like technology and we use plenty of it. We have just tried hard not to fall in love with it. The experience is the point.
